When my partner asked me to make her a plant stand she assumed it would be another wood working project. Since she works for an engineering firm and I work for a steel fabricator, I thought I would pull a few favors and create something unique.

It started with my concept sketch. I then had one of our deigners model it in SOLIDWORKS. From there, the laser cut and bend files were creates. The flat piece was then cut from 20 gauge drop and formed on the press brake. A part number and quality control check marks were later inscribed (not shown) with the last digits of the part number being her birthdate.

The model on the press brake.

It was a fun reminder of my home decor design past
